Less than two weeks until Kuali Days VIII in San Antonio. In advance, we continue to preview the Kuali Student track. Today: Overview and Demonstration of KS User Interaction Model (UIM).
Kuali Student's configurability will allow unique institutional workflows, usage of custom services, and corresponding custom html fields, pages, and page flows. This configurability will be supported by a user interface (UI) framework that will allow implementers to easily render a configured user interface. The UIM is both precursor and successor to the user interface framework—for the developers of the UI framework, the UIM specifies the behavior of modular user interface elements. Once complete, it serves as a design guide for both developers and designers. This session will give examples of and describe how the UIM supports the work of the UI developers and User Experience Designers working on Kuali Student, as well as how the modular interaction models were designed and documented. This session is at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17.
