KD8 Preview: Taking Curriculum Management Outside of North America – the Internationalization of Kuali Student

Only eight days until Kuali Days VIII in San Antonio. We continue to preview the Kuali Student track. Today: Taking Curriculum Management Outside of North America – the Internationalization of Kuali Student.

Although it is being developed by a consortium of English speaking North American universities, Kuali Student Release 1, Curriculum Management is meant to work in any educational jurisdiction. Current work at the University of Cambridge offers a practical example of the possibilities and opportunities. Among the other topics the panel will discuss are:

  1. Standard reference models for different educational jurisdictions. Just as KRU is really KR-North-America-University, so we could have KR-UK-HE
  2. What conferences would help facilitate the internationalization of KS?
  3. Language configuration: labels, business rules, data.
  4. Exchanging student transcript data (standards, Bologna process etc)
  5. Should there be a IIUG (International Implementation User Group)?

This session is at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 17. For more information about Kuali Days VIII, visit the Kuali Foundation’s conference website.
