Kuali Student at UBC eLearning Open House

Kuali Student was featured at the University of British Columbia (UBC) eLearning Open House, an annual event showcasing innovative technology projects from UBC faculty and staff. The January 28th eLearning Open House is one of the largest events of its kind on campus with a record of more than 250 participants.

This year, the focus of the Kuali Student presentation was Curriculum Development and Management (CDM). Participants were given an overview of the Kuali Student project, an early  milestone of the CDM module, and the implementation status on campus. Participants also discussed desired functionality and the business requirements gathering process.

To spread the word about the CDM module, the Kuali@UBC team used several presentation tools, including a PowerPoint demonstration of an early release, a series of new posters, and an animated presentation via the Prezi. Below is the animated presentation.

Organized by e-Strategy and the Office of Learning Technology, the eLearning Open House was a chance to share ideas with interested members of the community and gain feedback. For a Kuali standpoint, the event helped engage the UBC community in the development and implementation of a new curriculum approval and management process on campus. A range of stakeholders – students, faculty, and staff – showed interest in the project.
